TEHRAN – Physicians in a hospital in Tehran have removed a 10 kilogram tumor from a 34-year-old woman’s stomach, IRNA reported on Wednesday.

Ahmad Reza Doroshti, the hospital’s general surgeon said the patient, who was under medical treatment for having pain in the abdomen for a while, came to the hospital for some lab tests but once diagnosed with fibromyositis, she immediately underwent surgery.

Fibromyositis is chronic inflammation of a muscle.

The surgeon in charge of the operation has confirmed that the 2.5-hour surgery was a success and the patient is in the early stages of recovery.
